There exists a place just beyond reach, a no-man’s land, where everything loses its known meaning to become something else. It is a play of misunderstandings, in which nothing is what it seems and no one can be sure of what he sees and hears. Light could be mistaken for darkness, fire may hide in the guise of water, roads could lead to unexpected destinations.
Every human being is aware of this suspended dimension. You possibly may have even found it by chance, despite having tried to keep it as distant as possible, or perhaps you might have deeply sought it. My photography originates from this very place.
I strongly hope to lead you to this frontier, as much transient as elusive. I want to cultivate the art of misunderstanding, by constantly diverting your senses. Because only when you are disoriented and lost, will we begin to tell each other something authentic.
My stories begin with some stumbles, from the roots hidden in the understory. So fall, get lost, seek, and begin again. These are my stories, this is Misunderstories.
